On October 22nd, 2024, the American Drentsche Patrijshond Association published the first-ever English language Judges' Education document for the breed: View & Download HERE.

The goal of a proper Judges' Education is to provide the finer points of judging the conformation of the Drent beyond what is written in the Breed Standard, including photographs of good representatives of quality traits. With this, the ADPA hopes to advocate for maintaining both the proper form that makes the Drent a functional hunting dog, and the unique and historic appearance of the Drent.

Translated (with permission) from the work of respected Dutch breeder/judge Diana Striegel and reviewed by multiple breed experts and judges in the United States and Europe, the ADPA's Judges' Education for the Drentsche Patrijshond is intended to reflect both the historical judging of the breed and the modern Dutch breed standard. This is a working document that the ADPA hopes to continuously improve upon with additional feedback from AKC judges and qualified breed experts worldwide.

Congratulations to the ADPA Breed Standard & Judges' Ed Committee for their incredible efforts to put this together!
